Assisted Living & Memory Care

Bellaire at Devonshire marketing director addresses Rotary

By Sam Sentelle,
Putnam Rotary

Speakers usually come to the Rotary meetings, but, on Oct. 20, the club moved its weekly luncheon to the speaker. At the invitation of Scott Feldhaus, the marketing director at the Bellaire retirement home, Rotary changed its luncheon venue to the new facility in Scott Depot.

Bellaire is the latest addition to Devonshire in Teays Valley, a self-contained residential village for all ages. With an emphasis on convenience and personal comfort, Feldhaus described Bellaire as offering “care you can trust, and a community you will love. “We offer the look of an independent-living community,” he said, “with the security of 24-hour personalized assistance.”

In the 80,000 square feet of Bellaire, he said, “we provide both private and semi-private suites, and also respite care for families needing a break.” There are 64 assisted-living suites and 24 memory-care units. The memory-care area is one of the largest in the state. “With the care and attention of staff and an onsite rehabilitation team,” Feldhaus said, “Bellaire residents often are able to get back to the independent living they once had in their own homes.

“Our residents are our number one priority,” he said. “We are committed to serving their needs so that each person feels cared for with respect and dignity.” Transportation is provided for visits to the doctor or for shopping and other outings. There is wireless Internet service.

Other amenities include a theater, a fitness center, a cafe and deli, a game room, beauty salon and a library. “Our only moves have been success stories,” he added. As Feldhaus described the advantages of life in the Bellaire community, a couple of Rotarians asked about application procedures. “This beats moving to Florida,” they said. “How do we get in?”
